Conquer your Self-Sabotage

Hey there, Entrepreneurs!

Ever had that nagging feeling of wanting to achieve big things but finding yourself stuck in a cycle of..

Procrastination?

( caused by self-doubt, perfectionism, fear of failure etc)

You’re not alone. We’ve all been there – putting off tasks, not actioning the ones that you know would take you to the level you secretly desire, and then feeling down about it, and wondering why we can’t just get things done.

Imagine this: you wake up feeling excited, calm, and motivated. Instead of being reactive, you’re proactive, tackling your goals with enthusiasm and excitement. How awesome would that be? It’s not just a dream; it can be your reality.

But here’s the thing: self-sabotage often disguises itself as procrastination. It’s that inner voice telling you that you can’t do it, that you’re not good enough, or that you’ll fail if you try. We’ve all been plagued by self-doubt, fear of failure, and worries about making mistakes, but when these thoughts, feelings, and emotions become your constant companion then you please know that self-sabotage is at play here!

So, how do we break free from this self-sabotage cycle?

First things first, let’s understand it. Self-sabotage is like an overprotective friend trying to shield you from disappointment or hurt. But in the process, it keeps you stuck and unable to move forward.

The habit of procrastination keeps us in the same emotional state, hampering our own well-being and stopping us from really moving forward towards our dreams.

The key to overcoming self-sabotage lies in recognizing and becoming aware of yourself on a deeper level.

Most of us go about our days on autopilot. In fact 95% of ALL our actions are on autopilot.. meaning our body just does it WITHOUT us even being conscious of them.

In order for you to understand and become AWARE, let me give you a quick exercise.

Next time you “catch ” yourself postponing a task or diverting your attention towards other unimportant things – take a breath and become AWARE of your emotional state.

a-Are you feeling restless?

b- Angry perhaps?

c- Any other negative emotions?

Then just watch for the behaviors that follow under the umbrella of these negative states

a- Are you motivated towards making that phone call or writing that email or taking that bold step?

b- Are you now being easily triggered and reactive to situations outside of you?

You can go on and do some self-inquiry work at this stage .

What is your inner dialogue like? What are your beliefs around that goal that you consciously desire to achieve? Are these beliefs limiting or empowering?

Next step is confronting those fears head-on and replacing them with empowering thoughts. Think of it as giving your inner critic a reality check and showing it who’s boss.

Ok, I get it, confronting those deep-seated fears is not always easy and thats where some assistance from me or any other coach specializing in subconscious mind work can get you the results 100 x faster. More on that later..

Continuing with the exercise, ask yourself “What emotional state do you prefer, rather have?’

a- Feeling calm and optimistic

b- Feeling happy and motivated ( add whatever goal of desired positive emotions come up for you )

Now, check in with yourself, to which of the two spectrums of emotions ( positive and negative ) will allow and empower you to work towards your goals, feel motivated, and have conscious control of your triggers, your mind, and your behaviors.

Please also tap into your core values – those things that truly matter to you. By aligning your actions with your values, you can make decisions that resonate with your true selves. More on true selves in another article.

This alignment acts as a compass, guiding you away from self-sabotage and towards a more fulfilling life.

Self sabotage presents itself in more ways of course and is not limited to procrastination.

Self-sabotage stems from thoughts and emotions that hold us back, creating a conflict between our conscious desires and unconscious needs. It acts as a protective mechanism, shielding us from disappointment and hurt. Fear of failure, taking risks, making mistakes, and other anxieties contribute to these patterns.

Identifying and dismantling these limiting beliefs is the key to breaking the cycle of self-sabotage. This involves belief work, where we confront and replace these thoughts, creating a foundation for positive change. Additionally, understanding our core values is crucial. By aligning our decisions with our values, we prevent old patterns from resurfacing.

This approach, endorsed by influential figures like Tony Robbins, Richard Branson, and Oprah Winfrey, forms the basis of my coaching methodology. Unlike traditional coaching methods, my unique program delves deep into belief work and core values before moving on to action plans. It provides a solid foundation, ensuring you not only overcome self-sabotage but also thrive in the face of future challenges.

My coaching approach is different from others. It’s not just about setting goals and working hard – although that’s important too. It’s about understanding your beliefs, embracing your values, and making decisions that reflect the real you. Only then can you break free from self-sabotage and step into your full potential.
